Dentures Overview
Dentures also knowns as ‘plates’ or ‘false teeth’ are an alternative treatment option to bridges or implants. They fill one or more gaps in your mouth.
They can be easily removed from your mouth to aid cleaning your natural teeth and to clean the denture itself.
We offer many types of dentures to suit your needs;
Acrylic Dentures
A type of plastic denture. These can be partial (replace a few teeth) or complete (replace all your teeth). We can add clasps to the denture to clip around your existing teeth to aid in retention. We can even make them with reinforced acrylic for those who are prone to dropping or breaking their dentures.
Precision Cobalt Chrome Dentures
A very strong and minimal design makes the precision Cobalt Chrome denture very comfortable, and well tolerated by patients. These dentures don’t cover the roof of your mouth as much, allowing improved taste ability. These require you to have some teeth left as they use your remaining teeth to stay in and remain stable.
Flexible (Valplast) Dentures
Unlike more traditional rigid, bulky and unstable dental materials, Valplast flexible partial dentures are made from a flexible plastic material which fits neatly into your mouth and is much less visible. They do NOT require any unsightly metal clasps to keep them in place. These require you to have some teeth left as they use your remaining teeth to stay in and remain stable.
See the Valplast website for more details.

Implant Retained Dentures
When you have no remaining teeth and you suffer from loose dentures, the implant-retained denture is your answer. This will require two or more dental implants placed into the bone. Magnetic or mechanical attachments placed on the implant and denture mean the denture will click into place and remain stable. The ultimate in complete denture work.
