Emergency Dentist

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. During these hours, we do our best to see registered patients on the same day, depending on urgency and availability. If you are a registered patient and need urgent treatment or advice, please call the practice on 01823 661 555, and our team will do their best to assist you promptly. Normally, we do not see unregistered patients. However, you are welcome to call the practice, and we will try to help if we can.

For out-of-hours emergencies, registered patients should phone 01823 661 555 and follow the instructions on the recorded message. The duty dentist will return your call between 9am and 7pm on weekends and bank holidays. The out-of-hours call-out fee is £280, plus the cost of any treatment provided.

All patients can also call NHS 111 for emergency dental advice.

If your tooth is knocked out, handle it by the crown (the top part), not the root. If you can, try to gently place it back into the socket. If that’s not possible, keep the tooth moist by placing it in a container of milk or saliva. Contact us immediately, as the sooner you get treatment, the better the chances of saving the tooth.

A&E departments are generally not equipped to handle dental emergencies. They can help with severe bleeding or facial trauma, but for issues with a tooth or gum, it’s always best to contact a dental professional. Call our practice line and follow the out-of-hours instructions if necessary.
