Why have an inlay or onlay?

Inlays and onlays are precisely tailored to fit your needs, able to repair cracks, replace tooth cusps and fill large cavities. They are very strong and durable, able to last many years without an issue. Inlays and onlays are also easier to keep clean than other restorative options, promoting your excellent oral health.

Inlays and onlays involve less tooth removal than a crown, helping to preserve your remaining healthy tooth structure. They can be fitted on teeth in any part of your mouth, and colour-matched to your natural smile to create a seamless blend.

What does the treatment involve?

To begin, we remove any areas of decay or old fillings and carefully clean your tooth. We take digital images and impressions, which are used by a dental laboratory to create your custom-made inlay or onlay.

We fit a temporary restoration on your tooth to protect the prepared cavity between appointments.

When your inlay or onlay is ready, we check it for fit and comfort before fixing it permanently into place using a strong dental adhesive.
